Corporate Asset Management Specialist
BBus (Mgt), GradCert (InfrastructureEng&Mgt)
Geoff has worked for over 35 years in asset-intensive industries including rail and local government whilst engaged in a range of senior management roles. During this time he has attained a breadth of experience in operational and strategic asset management practices, including asset information systems and related business processes. Using this knowledge and skill Geoff is able to quickly appreciate and consider client needs, providing sensible and practical advice and assistance.
After a 20 year career with Qld Rail Geoff was employed for the following 8 years with Local Authorities and concentrated exclusively on the improvement of internal asset management practices. He has assisted many organisations with the development of strategic asset management plans for a range of asset classes and has supported a variety of clients in gaining a more practical understanding of service planning activities relative to asset-dependent services.
Geoff also has a thorough appreciation of the importance of robust asset data and the functional use of asset information systems. He has consistently proven to be adept at assisting clients with the development of functional asset management frameworks, the creation of appropriate asset hierarchies and the review and improvement of a range of asset information management processes. Most particularly, he has in-depth knowledge of asset registration and valuation processes, including the ADAC (Asset Design As Constructed) standard, having been heavily involved with the project since its inception in 2001.
Previous to establishing LION SYSTEMS, Geoff worked for a number of years as a self-employed consulting professional assisting organisations with the achievement of operational, tactical and strategic asset management objectives. Geoff’s education and hands-on management experience support his all-round understanding of the obligatory governance, finance and risk management requirements facing today’s asset-centric authorities and private businesses.

Gaining his initial training and experience working as a Designer for the large commercial engineering consultancy, Cardno MBK, Blake moved across to local government in 2000. During his career, he has continued to develop his knowledge and skills surrounding civil infrastructure and has gained a comprehensive understanding of asset management principles and practices.
As a Council officer Blake held key roles involving the registration, valuation and reporting of both developer donated and internally-constructed civil infrastructure. He is highly regarded as a skilled technician in this field and has been extensively involved with the technical design of the ADAC (Asset Design As Constructed) standard for over 10 years.
While Blake is proficient in the use of civil design software, he has also gained considerable expertise in both Geographic (GIS) and Asset Management Information Systems. Most particularly he has substantial knowledge and experience relative to essential Water and Sewerage asset information as well as all manner of Transport, Drainage and Open Space assets.
Following Council amalgamations in Queensland in 2008, Blake was instrumental in coordinating the integration of multiple asset datasets for the 4th largest local government authority (by population) in Australia. Working with the legacy data for stormwater, water and sewerage networks from three original shires he coordinated the consolidation of the existing information using both spatial manipulation tools and other applications. His ability to apply his substantial industry knowledge, skills and experience in various technical systems environments is consistently proven to be second to none.
